Fall Skincare Routine
If you've been following for a while, you know I'm obsessed with skin care. If you're new here, let me tell you - I'm obsessed with skin care haha. I really pride myself in my skin care routine. When I was younger, I never really had a solid routine and I didn't understand what different products were for. In my young adult years, I really began to invest in my skin care products and take the time to figure out what works best for my skin type.
My skin is pretty normal, thankfully. I don't breakout too often, I don't really get oily or super dry. I would say this is half because I was blessed with good skin, and half because of the products I use to take care of my skin. Having a solid skincare routine has so many positive effects, including making my makeup routine easy peasy. (Check out my current every day makeup routine here!)
In today's post, I'm breaking down my fall skincare routine. I go in depth about the products I use morning & night, and I'm also telling you about my current favorite face masks! Keep reading!
My morning cleanser of choice has been the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser because it's gentle and lightweight. You can read my initial review on it here! I have grown to love it and will definitely repurchase it once I run out. The fresh scent is perfect for the morning and it makes my skin feel so clean!
Depending on my skin, I use either the Glossier Super Glow or Super Pure serums. The Super Glow is the one I use most of the time. It has vitamin c and is great for brightening. The Super Pure is amazing for when you have a break out and need to get it under control. Click here to read my previous review on these serums & for a Glossier discount code!
I've fallen in love with the Kate Somerville ExfoilKate Glow Moisturizer. I love that it's light weight and absorbs quickly into the skin. The scent is also ahh-mazing. I've found it to be a great base for under my foundation as well.
To take my makeup off, I've been alternating between the Kopari Coconut Cleansing Oil and the Damn Good Face Wash. Both are oil based which means every bit of makeup & dirt comes right off! I put these on my face dry, then use a warm wash cloth to get everything off. I have written multiple reviews about Damn Good Face Wash - read them here and here. This is definitely an essential product in my skin care routine, no matter the time of year!
After getting my makeup off, I use a gentle cleanser. The Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh is one that I always go back to. I also love the Fresh Soy Milk Face Cleanser. I always have one of these in my routine! They are super gentle and have a refreshing scent.
Face oils are all the rage right now and I absolutely love them! I use them year round because they really are super moisturizing. I use them alone during the warmer months, but layered with moisturizer during the colder months to prevent my skin from becoming dry. I know the thought of putting oil on your face can be scary; however, if it is a natural oil that mimics the oils your skin produces, you will have no issues. Instead of stripping your skin of it's natural oils like many skincare products do (in turn, making your skin oily because it's forced to produce extra), applying an oil will help to replenish your natural oils, keeping you moisturized and under control. My two favorite oils are the Damn Good Face Oil and the Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil. Both of these oils are organic.
My night time moisturizer of choice has been the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream. This is their newest face cream and it is hands down one of my favorites! I actually won this during their #GlowGetter giveaway they were hosting on Instagram when it was first released. I'm glad I won it when I did because I planned to purchase it when the moisturizer I was using before ran out! It smells SO amazing - think all the citrus scents - and really makes my skin glow. I would also describe it as a mid weight cream which is what I need for the fall transition.
MASKS I'M LOVING
I purchased this mask during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I am SO glad I did. I had always heard amazing things about Kiehl's so it's been on my list of beauty brands to try for a while now. It came in a duo with the mask I'm going to talk about next and I am in love with them both. I use this one during the day, preferably before I apply my makeup. It not only exfoliates the skin, but also leaves it feeling fresh and looking so glowy. I leave it on for about 10 minutes before washing it off with a warm wash cloth. I try to use this 2-3 times a week!
This is the second mask that came in the Kiehl's duo from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I use this one at night when my skin needs a little extra hydration. I can honestly say I see a noticeable difference in my skin when I first look in the mirror after waking up. My skin just looks hydrated and plump. Talk about an overnight miracle worker! This mask is the bomb.
If you couldn't already tell, I love a good mask that hydrates and adds glow to the skin. In comparison to the Kiehl's Radiance Masque above, this one by Fresh does not exfoliate. I don't like to exfoliate my skin too often because it just doesn't react well for me. This mask is the perfect option for a night time mask when you want to wake up looking vibrant. It's even better in combination with the Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream I mentioned above!
As always, thanks for reading!
